Determined Riddell brings chip back home

Nothing like a little home cooking, eh? After a brief hiatus, the quest for the chip made its way to David Riddell's home town today. And there was nothing stopping him from bringing it back into his possession(eventually-more on that below).

Played at Pineview Golf Course in historic Ypsilanti Michigan, Riddell carried the hopes of his hometown fans to glory. But it wasn't without a little late round drama. Up three strokes on Riddell going into hole 18, top contestant David Willard undoubtedly felt the presence of the rowdy hometown fans. Struggling to concentrate over the fans' raucous cheering, Willard 4-putted for a quad bogey, giving him a tie with Riddell to end regulation! After a four round tiebreaking putt-off from the dirt, Riddell finally clinched victory, much to the fans' delight. "O Ver Ra Ted!!!!" the fans chanted as Willard missed putt after putt. "Do you guys think 4-putts are funny?" Another asked. At some point a fan started screaming about licences and insurance, or something. It got crazy.

"The fans got to me today," Willard said in a post-match interview. "I tried to tell them to shut.the.fuck.up but they were relentless. Too many Bang Seltzers, I guess. I felt a lot like John Navarre out there today."

However, a perfect day unfortunately didn't result in a perfect ending for Riddell. The Chip Committee had sent the precious JonBenéy Ramsy Open Memorial Championchip out for restorations and it wasn't available for post match photos. Riddell would have to wait another day to hold his coveted crown.

Final scores are as follows:

David Riddell: 88
David Willard: 88
David Bozynski: 92
Aaron Rinna: 94

Congratulations to the winner!
